Running from Crescent Heights Boulevard to its western border with Beverly Hills at Sierra Drive, The Sunset Strip is the most famous and well known section of Sunset Boulevard. The Strip embraces a chic collection of trendy boutiques, restaurants, outside cafes, and Hollywood’s nightspots. A must see place at night when the Sunset Strip explodes into life. The Strip’s unique atmosphere attracts many celebrities, tourists, and people-watchers. Today, the Strip contains some of the most exclusive condominium complexes on the Westview Towers, Sierra Towers to mention a few.
Besides trendy shops and bars, the Sunset Strip offers countless fantastic places to eat in Los Angeles. So, the 5 must-go-to restaurants are:

Il Sole

8741 W Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

This Sunset Strip hot spot has increasingly become paparazzi central. It is a cozy, boutique restaurant specializing in authentic contemporary cuisine. With its dark, low-frills interior and crowded sidewalk patio, it’s a favorite with industry-types who flock here for such regional Italian fare as pappa al pomodoro soup or taglioni with shaved truffles and tiramisu. The restaurant features an extensive regional Italian wine list. No wonder every big name in Hollywood from Jennifer Aniston to Michael Douglas and Cameron Diaz to Jerry Seinfeld has a favorite dish at this popular Italian restaurant.

BOA

9200 W Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

BOA isn’t just some steakhouse throwback. If you are looking for glam in a steakhouse, this is it. It offers an a la carte menu of your favorite surf-and-turf classics- whole Maine lobster, 40-day dry-aged New York strip steak and premium Japanese Wagyu. However, the décor is more like that of a sleek sushi bar than an old-school steak joint. Order a Caesar and a server makes it table side, wielding a wooden spoon double time to whip up the dressing. Steak tartare is a tableside performance too. Tuna tartare, crab cakes and seafood platters round out the appetizer selection.

Katana
8439 W. Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

Katana is an extraordinary beautiful Japanese restaurant. Located in the historic Plaza del Sol building, Katana is distinguished by design accents and has many distinct spaces, including the bar and lounge areas, the main dining room with Sushi Bar and Robata Grill, the Tea Room, Sunset Room, private dining room and the outdoor heated patio, packed with beautiful people, overlooking the bustling Sunset Strip. The menu is Japanese comfort food cooked Tobata style on open flames. Inspired dishes include Giant Scallops and Shitake Mushrooms with Minced Chicken, Chilean Sea Bass in Ponzu Souce, Shrimp seasoned in Miso Tarragon, Lobster Roll.

Café Med
8615 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

With its perfect location and curbside tables, this café get by on looks alone. A curving copper-topped coffee bar runs along the casual dining room. The Italian-inspired menu features starters like salmon tartare on a bed of dill sauce, and burrata di bufala, a hollow of fresh mozzarella stuffed with mascarpone cheese, accented with roasted red peppers. Popular entrees include lightly breaded sea bass with horseradish crust, and rich spinach-ricotta ravioli in sage butter. Don’t leave without trying a dessert pizza, thin sweet dough baked perfectly with nutella and strawberries.

Le Clafoutis
8630 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

Le Clafoutis, situated on chic Sunset Plaza makes you feel like you are in the South of France on the inside and a Paris Café on the outside. Needless to say, the people-watching is as irresistible as the menu. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served. Try the classic French Toast for breakfast, Plateau Nicois for lunch, and for dinner, the Ahi Tuna served with Mediterranean ratatouille. The wine list is impressive and the martinis are excellent!
