Hummus, Pita Bread and Chopped Kubar Salad
Rkaykat Bil Jibneh (cheese rolls)
Baked Zaatar
Sambousek
Lets talk a little Lebanese!!
Kubar to be exact.. Now I love love love Mediterranean food..but lets face it.. Although amazing!! Felafel’s and Shawarma have a tendency to leave you in a slight food coma after consumption.
NOT KUBAR!!
This adorable..not so little restaurant is right in the heart of Hollywood..on Hollywood blvd. THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!!
They have Tabbouleh..they have Hummus…they have Baba Gannouj… need I say more?
Okay I will!!
The Tabbouleh just might be the best I have ever had..and I have had a lot of Tabbouleh in my day. Now for those of you who might not have had the pleasure of ever trying Tabbouleh.. (and I suspect there may be a few) let me briefly explain this deliciousness to you.
Tabbouleh is fresh chopped parsley, cracked wheat, tomato, white onions, lemon juice and olive oil, served cold. Put a little scoop of it into warm pita bread and commence to taste a little bit of heaven!
There is pretty much something for everyone on the menu including fries and burgers..with a Mediterranean flair of course
…But there is one dish that I have to say is my absolute favorite. Well at least until I return for the rest of the menu…
Affectionately named “Baked Zaatar”. The word baked attached to any food always gets my senses going! I had to try it! It’s basically a super thin crust pizza with dried thyme and sesame seeds minus the cheese. Served with a yogurt dip and mint. OMG!!! I could have eaten ten of these!!
Most nights Kubar is open until 2am and in the summer time they are open until 4am. Yay!!
If you are anything like me, out with friends at 2am searching for good food after a night of dancing, Kubar is the place to find it!! Believe me it is giving Bossa Nova a run for it’s money!!
Everything I ate at Kubar was amazing!! Super fresh (no cans), super flavorful (but not over powering), and super well priced (from $3.50-to $16.00)
Open for lunch, dinner and late night Kubar is well worth the visit…
Kubar… I “LIKE”
